Breyer Education incorporates industry practices and procedures and essential living skills into the academic skills training in tandem with its corporate philosophy of “creating a Positive Thinking Workforce for Instant employability”.

This is done by including various learning systems into the Academic Skills training.

WORK BASED LEARNING (WBL) AND PRACTICAL SKILLS TRAINING (PST) SYSTEM

  • Learning is based actual practical hand on experience
  • Training done by teachers with industry experience
  • Assessment is based on ability to complete industry tasks
  • Regulated by the National Occupational Skills Standard (NOSS) setting objectives and guidelines under the Ministry of Human Resource
  • Periodical training by current industry experts
  • CQ Breyer offers 11 Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) programmes and 4 Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM)programmes

EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT, INTELLIGENCE QUOTIENT AND SPIRITUAL QUOTIENT (EQIQSQ) SYSTEM

In accordance to the requirement of the current work environment requires, CQ Breyer trainees are trained to possess the 3 essential mental skills of:

Emotional Quotient (EQ)

Emotional Quotient is the ability to sense, understand and effectively apply the power and acumen of emotions to facilitate high levels of collaboration and productivity. It empower individuals to understand their own EQ so they can avoid making high-risk decisions without understanding how their emotions are influencing their choice. Instead they can make educated, sound decisions with their head, instead of just their heart.


CQ Breyer focuses on five areas of EQ within interpersonal intelligence to understand oneself and intrapersonal intelligence to understand others. The 5 areas that CQ Breyer Education instills in its Trainees are:


Intrapersonal Emotional Quotient of:

Self-Awareness –  Recognizing your moods, emotions and drives
and their  effect on others .
 
       
Self-Regulation Controlling and re-directing disruptive impulses and moods and to suspend  judgment and think
before acting.
 
       
Motivation Developing a passion to work for reasons that go beyond money and status and a thirst to pursue goals persistently and vigourously.  

Interpersonal Emotional Quotient of:

Social Skills  –  A proficiency in managing relationships and
building networks.
 
       
Empathy  The ability to understand the emotional makeup of 
other people..
 

Intelligence Quotient (IQ)

An intelligence quotient is a measure of a person's cognitive abilities ("intelligence") to apply reason to facts in relation to their age group. This can be measured through a series of standardised tests to assess a person knowledge and its depth. Education providers often play a vital role in providing IQ but at times neglect the importance of Spiritual Quotient( SQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ)and Physical Quotient(PQ)


Spiritual Quotient (SQ)

In any work environment, an employee must make decisions or work in accordance with:

  • the accepted local culture and
  • spiritual beliefs

to preserve harmony and moral turpitude in a highly technical society. At Breyer, spiritual activities are often conducted according to the religion and race of the trainees up bringing. This strengthens their confidence


At times the task may not be one mere intelligence but not of physical ability. At work place often it is the Physical Quotient coupled with IQ,EQ and SQ that leads to success.


Physical Quotient (PQ)

The physical quotient of an individual varies from person to person. However the physical quotient can be developed though will power and concentration and practice. An employee needs to also assess the physical ability of himself or others before embarking on a task or delegating the task to another.


QUALITY ASSURANCE DEPARTMENT (QAD) and TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC)

CQ Breyer Group of Colleges does not compromise on quality in education. The QAD conducts frequent checks on the quality of the students, faculty and facilities to bring out the best in each student in terms of academic excellence and personality excellence such as work ethics and time management to ensure their instant employability and marketability. The Quality Assurance Department conducts quality checks thorough:


  • Student Happiness Survey (done monthly)
  • Classroom Document & Delivery Review Audit (done monthly)
  • Training & Retraining all its staff
  • Upgrading of course materials regularly
  • New and Innovative Methods of Classroom management and teaching
  • Quarterly Technical Advisory Committee input on industry needs
  • Employability Skills such as interview techniques, resume writing and project management.

TECHNICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE (TAC)

Each course at CQ Breyer, is subject to the scrutiny of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). This committee consists of academicians and industry people who will examine the course content in terms of its depth, coverage and flexibility to adapt to market needs. The committee also examines the teaching and learning tools and the delivery mechanism to ensure students are well equipped to apply their knowledge acquired to their work environment.
